She developed her innovative weave technique specifically for her translucent material, enabling her to reveal the entire vertical warp threads that are otherwise invisible in most woven textiles. She observes every warp thread as a line and manipulates the way each one runs and forms delicate patterns in her pieces.
Parniczky will receive a grant to develop her work and a solo exhibition curated by Julia Royse at Contemporary Applied Arts, London, this summer.
The diverse and dynamic body of Perrier-Jouët Salon Members meet annually to share ideas, debate and to support an annual prize. The salon includes people from across the arts: Jo Hooper, Rosy Greenlees, Tord Boontje, Tony Chambers, Es Devlin, Nicole Farhi, Peter Aspden, Michael Morris and Stephen Jones.
